Florida man tried to break into car filled with cops, officials say

The Florida man chose the wrong car to try to get into.

The surveillance video appears to have captured 49-year-old Steven Titlan going from car to car through a Tampa residential area earlier this month. Seven times he was cornered as the doors were locked.

The next day, Titland, who was already on probation for burglary and hooliganism, did better when he discovered an unlocked door.

However, the car was not empty.

It was an unmarked sheriff’s Pascoe company vehicle containing several members of the Sheriff’s Strategic Objectives Response Team.

Authorities said analysts had positively determined that Titland was the same person who attempted the robbery the night before.

Sheriff Pascoe’s office posted a snapshot of surveillance footage on Facebook on Thursday and identified Titland as a suspect.

TItland charged with seven burglary attempts
