Sheriff’s spokesman Danny Alvarez said Stone told the detectives that he didn’t know who owned the cars.
On April 23, Stone poured brake cleaner or rust remover onto the passenger side of a 2017 Porsche Macan, resulting in paint flaking and nearly $ 2,000 in damage, Alvarez said. About a week later, Stone spilled a chemical on a 2015 Mercedes. 500 cars are parked outside the AMC Veterans 24 cinema at 9302 Anderson Road, Alvarez said. According to Alvarez, the paint on the passenger side was peeling, and the repair cost the owner $ 1,200.
Surveillance video showed Stone’s 2012 Mercedes GLK in both incidents around the time they happened, Alvarez said, and Stone told lawmakers that he damaged both cars.
“We are aware of two similar cases recently, including in the city of Tampa,” Alvarez said. “The detectives are still trying to establish if these cases are related.”
Stone was held in Hillsborough County Jail instead of $ 4,000 bail
