A Florida man was arrested on Wednesday after deputies said he swung a pickax at a man after the two got into a fight after smoking meth over a few days.
Daniel Brown, 47, was smoking methamphetamine with Dylan Everett, 26, at a Daytona Beach-area house when the two got into an argument at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Daytona Beach News-Journal reports. Brown grabbed Everett’s cellphone, picked up a pickax and then swung it at Everett’s head, Volusia County deputies said.
Everett deflected the blow with his right arm. Deputies said that Brown accused Everett of “taking things from the home and breaking a door.”
A meth lab with “three plastic bottles converted into one-pot labs, lighter fluid, ammonium nitrate, lithium batteries, Sudafed packs and Pyrex dishes” was found in a duffel bag in a shed on the property, deputies added.
Everett suffered wounds on his arm and leg, and was taken to the hospital.
Brown was arrested and charged with attempted felony murder, manufacture or delivery of methamphetamine and trafficking methamphetamine.
