A Florida man calls himself “The Beast” after he fought off an intruder and took terrible action to contain him until the police showed up.
Richard Golden of Jacksonville was sitting in his home when he heard the glass break. He says that a man with a rifle broke through his sliding glass door and demanded money.
But Golden says he didn’t give up. He resisted.
“He hit me on the head with a gun and my buddy came up just in time and distracted him,” Golden said. “And when he distracted him, I made my move, grabbed him and locked the gun.”
Golden told WJXT that he put the man, later identified as Timothy Hinson, in the castle. Then he thrust his fingers into the man’s eyes as best he could.
“I dropped the clip because I had military training, then there was another one in my cell,” Golden said. “It worked. I knew that I was not dead, I knew that I had not been shot. And then military training took over, and I gouged out his eyes. ”
But Golden didn’t give up. He made sure that Hinson could not escape until the police arrived.
“I sat on him and stuck his eyes through until the cops came,” he said. “I took his own pistol from him by beating him.”
Golden still got cuts on his hands after the fight. He also lost one of his dogs, who managed to escape during a fight.
He told WJXT that he didn’t know why he was attacked and said that he had never seen Hinson in his life.
Hinson received medical attention and was taken into custody.
