A mom from Lee County warns other parents after she said a strange man bumped into her kids at a bus stop, followed them home on a tricycle, and asked them if they wanted to make money.
“I don’t know if he was going to come into the house with them or pick them up,” said Brittany Moreno’s worried mother.
Moreno said the macabre confrontation began at her kids’ bus stop on Yvonne Avenue and 23rd Street Southwest on Monday afternoon.
“There are a lot of people around, and this guy wasn’t scared of it at all.” Moreno said her children walked two blocks home, chasing the man.
“He just acted weird all the time. He circled a little next to us, and then, in the end, he just went with us, ”said Moreno’s nine-year-old son Xavier.
Xavier said that what happened next scared him and his brothers and sisters and made them run into the house.
“He was like: do you guys want to make money? Then I just refused, because in my head I thought, what does he mean by that? ”
Moreno said she couldn’t get a good look at the man because he drove off on his tricycle as soon as she stepped outside.
Moreno has since filed a report with the Lee County Sheriff.
