Authorities say a man walked into a gas station in Florida and hit the 13-year-old stranger, passing out.
Hillsborough County Sheriff’s officials say the girl was at the convenience store on Saturday afternoon while her parents refueled gas on the street. They say Colby Smith entered the store and punched the girl in the face, causing her to fall to the ground. Authorities say Smith was not provoked and did not know the girl.
Several citizens stood by the store and detained Smith until the deputies arrived.
Authorities say the 27-year-old Smith has repeatedly resisted arrest, so they used a stun gun. They say he later admitted to taking LSD.
He was charged with aggravated child abuse, violation of probation and resisting arrest without violence.
